You did not check the pH (an Acidity scale) of your Solutions. This is easy to do with pH paper strips (Hydrion paper). Muriactic Acid is HCL (a strong acid). Vinegar is Acetic Acid (weak). Citric Acid is also considered a weak acid. pH used? Concentration? Coke & Pepsi have citric, carbonic and phosphoric acids (pH is 2.5-2.7). Baking Soda, Sodium bicarbonate is a weak base. A base will neutralize an acid. pH 7 is neutral, neither acidic or basic.

Thank you for the wide choice of rust remover. For over a year I've been trying to get a few small rust stains off of my bath tub and tried the baking soda/vinegar etc. "homey remedies". I noticed that various acids worked for you and I just happened to have jewelry tester acid around the house. It comes in a small plastic mini bottle and it is a dropper smaller than an eye dropper. I carefully dropped drops of acid on the stain and a few minutes later just wiped it off with a terry cloth rag. I got the idea from your video. Thanks again!N

Best to use is 250g of sodium hydrogen sulfate and 5l hot Water. Trust me and test it👌🏻😎

A couple of stronger methods: Oxilic Acid comes as a white powder. Put maybe a Tablespoon in a quart of water, then add rusty pliers or whatever. What is it? An acid that is in Barkeepers’ Friend that comes from Rhubarb! Very strong FUMES so use caution. Or… Vinegar with 45% Acetic Acid from Amazon instead of 5% from the grocery store. Very strong FUMES again! Probably dilute with half water or more. If rust remains, add more Vinegar to boost power. By the way, Amazon has a version of Muriatic Acid that is SUPPOSED to have way lower fumes than normal. Called Acid Blue or something like that. Costs more but the other stuff is pretty dodgy.
